What Is It?
IUI is a fertility procedure designed to increase the chances of pregnancy by placing specially prepared sperm directly into a woman’s uterus during ovulation. This minimally invasive procedure bypasses certain fertility barriers, such as cervical factors or low sperm motility, to improve conception rates.

Procedure
The process begins with monitoring the woman’s ovulation cycle through ultrasound and hormone tests. Sperm is collected, processed, and concentrated to select the healthiest and most motile sperm. The prepared sperm is then gently inserted into the uterus using a catheter at the optimal time for fertilisation. Post-procedure, the patient is advised to rest briefly and continue hormone support if prescribed. Pregnancy tests are conducted after two weeks to confirm results.

IUI is ideal for couples experiencing mild male infertility, unexplained infertility, or cervical factor issues. Best results are generally seen in women under 35 years, though it can be attempted later with careful monitoring. The procedure is outpatient-based, safe, and generally painless, offering a non-invasive fertility solution with personalised support and follow-up.
